Bonjour Laurent Happy New Year! Today, 9 January 2005, I launched Free Spirit! I apologise that it has taken a very long time to do as the weather has been so wet, but today conditions were perfect, so we grabbed the NZ champagne, our friends Shaun and Jools and set off to catch the outgoing tide and set sail to Free Spirit. We took the big boat out to 12 miles east of an very small island called Tiritiri in the Hauraki Gulf. The currents from the Gulf lead into the Pacific Ocean. When we last saw bateau #9 a bird was settled along side her! She was sailing really well and even managing to tack! I hope Free Spirit has a long and safe journey.Much love. Helenxxx
